Year 4 Carlsruhe Program

The Carlsruhe Annexe is a rural campus of Woodend Primary School, offering Year 4 students a unique 26 weeks program focused on sustainability, environmental education, and hands-on learning.

Students spend four days a week at the Annexe, where they:

  • Care for a vegetable garden, chickens, sheep, and guinea pigs
  • Learn practical life skills through outdoor and environmental activities
  • Participate in kitchen-garden programs and sustainability projects

Set on the historic site of the former Carlsruhe State School, the Annexe fosters responsibility, teamwork, and a strong connection to the natural world.

A highlight is the Carlsruhe Country Fair, which is held bi-annually and co-ordinated by our committed community, celebrating rural life and community involvement.
